January 1
January 1 collects short history notes for families. The years on this page include 1467, 1628, -153, 1001. Violent events and crimes are left off. Each line is a small true thing to ask about, not a whole lesson. February 29 is included so a leap-day birthday still has a page. Walk with the previous and next links, or open the January hub for the rest of the month.
- In 1467, Sigismund I the Old was born. Sigismund became known as polish king.
- In 1628, Christoph Bernhard was born. Christoph became known as german composer and theorist.
- In -153, for the first time, Roman consuls begin their year in office on January 1.
- In 1001, grand Prince Stephen I of Hungary is named the first King of Hungary by Pope Sylvester II (probable).
