Canada Federal Election History and Official Results Archives
In brief
Canadians searching “federal election results history” should start at Elections Canada’s past-election pages, which host official voting results after validation.
Elections Canada administers federal general elections and later publishes Official Voting Results. The 45th general election was held on 28 April 2025; Elections Canada’s GE45 pages and the statutory report are the primary references for seats, turnout and poll-by-poll detail.
Where does Elections Canada publish official results?
When was the 45th Canadian federal election?
Because redistributions change riding boundaries, comparing one election’s district totals with an older map can mislead. Elections Canada documents redistribution notes alongside the official tables.

Use validated or official voting results, not unofficial decision-desk calls, when you need a citable number.
Provincial and territorial elections are run by separate agencies, not Elections Canada. When a search mixes “provincial election” with federal history, send readers to the correct province’s chief electoral officer.
Our elections hub keeps a dated worldwide calendar so federal timelines sit next to other countries’ contests without mixing vote totals.
