Meta Launches Muse Wonder, Its First Frontier AI Model

In brief
Meta’s Superintelligence Lab rolled out Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full on Monday, pitching them as the company’s first true frontier models. Meta says the pair match or beat rivals on agent work, coding and long-term memory — claims that will face independent scrutiny.
For months Meta talked about “personal superintelligence” while shipping lighter Muse Spark and Muse agent tools. Monday’s release is the first time the company has put a frontier-sized model on the table since Alexandr Wang restructured the AI effort. Axios quoted Wang calling Wonder and Wonder Full “true frontier models… particularly state of the art on personal and professional agentic work.”
According to Meta’s own model card, as summarized by TechCrunch, Wonder and Wonder Full post scores comparable to Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra on the company’s internal suite. MemoryBench — a test of continual learning and recall — is a highlight Meta wants investors to notice. Pricing for Wonder through the Meta Model API is listed at about $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, roughly in the same band as other premium models.
Wonder Full, Meta said, will sit behind Muse Code subscriptions rather than the open API. Both models are also wired into the Muse agent. That packaging matters: Meta is not only chasing chatbots; it wants assistants that keep context across days of work.
Markets noticed. Trading desks flagged Meta shares up more than 3% on the session while chip names sold off. That split — software AI up, memory hardware down — framed the day on Wall Street as much as any single headline.
What remains open is whether outside evaluators confirm Meta’s numbers, how fast Wonder reaches Instagram, WhatsApp and workplace tools, and whether safety claims (cyber and biological misuse, personal data) match the fuller report Meta promised later. For now the story is simple: Meta says it is back in the frontier race, and it put a price tag and a product SKU on that claim.
Readers comparing model cards should remember that vendor benchmarks are marketing documents until third parties replicate them. Price-per-token charts age quickly when competitors discount.

Why it matters
If the benchmarks hold, Meta stops looking like a distributor of other people’s AI and starts looking like a lab that can ship state-of-the-art models into apps used by billions.
