Undas 2026 in the Philippines: 1–2 November Holidays and Travel Tips

Short answer
Under Proclamation No. 1006, All Saints' Day (Sunday 1 November 2026) and All Souls' Day (Monday 2 November 2026) are special non-working days nationwide, giving many Filipino families a long weekend for Undas.
"Undas 2026" is one of the top searches in the Philippines right now. It's the time when families visit cemeteries to clean graves, light candles, offer flowers and share food while remembering loved ones. According to Proclamation No. 1006 (reported by the Philippine News Agency), the 2026 dates are:
- All Saints' Day: Sunday, 1 November 2026, a special (non-working) day
- All Souls' Day: Monday, 2 November 2026, an additional special (non-working) day
The proclamation says the extra day on 2 November is meant to "strengthen family ties" and promote domestic tourism. With Saturday 31 October, many people get a three-day weekend.
Pay rules (DOLE)
GMA News reports that under DOLE Labor Advisory No. 18, series of 2026, employees who work on 1 or 2 November get an extra 30% of their basic wage for the first eight hours. "No work, no pay" applies unless a company policy or agreement says otherwise. Work on a special day that is also your rest day earns an extra 50%. Bonifacio Day on 30 November is a regular holiday.
Travel and safety tips
- Leave early. Roads, ports and bus terminals get very busy in the days before Undas.
- Visit off-peak. Early morning or late afternoon visits avoid the midday heat and crowds.
- Keep kids close. Large cemeteries can be crowded, so agree on a meeting point and write a phone number on a card in your child's pocket.
- Candle safety. Keep candles away from flowers, paper and clothing, and never leave them burning unattended.
- Carry water and an umbrella for sun or rain.
