Spot gold and silver prices move through the day and are quoted in dollars per troy ounce on global markets. This page converts those spot figures into per-gram and per-10-gram amounts in US dollars, Indian rupees, Canadian dollars, UAE dirhams, British pounds and euros so shoppers and curious readers can compare at a glance.
Metal prices come from Gold API, a free feed that allows website use, and currency conversion uses the same mid-market rates as our currency converter. Both are cached on our server for about an hour so the page stays fast and polite to the free sources. The update time is shown under the table.
Local jewellers add making charges, hallmark fees, taxes such as GST and their own buy–sell spread, so the number on a shop receipt will not match this spot table. Bullion dealers and banks also quote different bid and ask prices. Never treat this page as a buy or sell signal.
