In brief

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed air-pollution mitigation at the Anand Vihar hotspot and visited the DPCC command centre at Shastri Park. They inaugurated 13 new continuous air-quality monitors and flagged off 150 electric buses, The New Indian Express reported.

What was reviewed

Officials described Anand Vihar as a persistent hotspot because of bus-terminal congestion, road dust, unfinished paving, construction dust and open waste burning. Short- and long-term tasks were assigned across 11 agencies, including paving, encroachment removal and dust controls, according to the report.

New capacity announced

Thirteen new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations were inaugurated, and public EV charging sites at several depots were virtually inaugurated alongside 150 new electric buses at Anand Vihar ISBT.
