IND vs NZ 2026 Match Times in IST, NZDT and Canada/US Time

Short answer
New Zealand is on daylight time (NZDT, UTC+13) for the whole tour, which puts it 7 hours 30 minutes ahead of India. So the 8 PM T20Is start at 12:30 PM IST, the 3 PM ODIs at 7:30 AM IST, and the 11 AM Tests at 3:30 AM IST. In Toronto the T20Is start at 3 AM (2 AM after the Nov 1 clock change).
India's all-format tour of New Zealand starts on Thursday, 22 October 2026 and runs to 1 December: five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests. New Zealand Cricket publishes start times only in New Zealand time, so fans in India, Canada and the US have to convert every fixture. This page does that for you, shows the maths so you can check it, and flags the one date this season where clocks change mid-series.
All local start times below come from New Zealand Cricket's official 2026-27 home schedule. We converted them ourselves using the official time-zone rules listed at the end. Start times can change for broadcast reasons, so check the official channels on match day.
How big is the time difference between New Zealand and India?
New Zealand moved its clocks forward to New Zealand Daylight Time (NZDT) on 27 September 2026 and will not change back until 4 April 2027, according to the New Zealand government. NZDT is 13 hours ahead of UTC. India Standard Time (IST) is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of UTC all year, because India does not use daylight saving.
So the gap for the whole tour is 13:00 minus 5:30 = 7 hours 30 minutes, with New Zealand ahead. To get IST, subtract 7 hours 30 minutes from the New Zealand start time. Because every start is in the New Zealand afternoon or evening, Indian fans always watch on the same calendar date.
Worked example: the 1st T20I in Christchurch
- Official start: 8:00 PM NZDT, Thursday 22 October.
- Convert to UTC: 8:00 PM minus 13 hours = 7:00 AM UTC, Thursday 22 October.
- Convert to IST: 7:00 AM plus 5 hours 30 minutes = 12:30 PM IST, Thursday 22 October.
- Convert to Toronto (EDT, UTC-4): 7:00 AM minus 4 hours = 3:00 AM EDT, Thursday 22 October.
You can repeat this for any match in the time zone converter: pick Pacific/Auckland as the "from" zone, type the start time, and add Asia/Kolkata, America/Toronto or your own city. The world clock is handy for checking the current time in Auckland on match day. For the general method, see our guide on how to convert time zones.

Why the gap to Canada and the US changes on 1 November
Ontario, Quebec and most of the US leave daylight saving time at 2 AM on Sunday, 1 November 2026, when clocks fall back one hour (NIST and the National Research Council Canada list the first Sunday in November as the end date). Before that, Toronto is on EDT (UTC-4) and sits 17 hours behind New Zealand. After it, Toronto is on EST (UTC-5) and the gap grows to 18 hours.
The 5th T20I falls right on that morning. It starts at 7:00 AM UTC, which is one hour after Toronto's clocks have already gone back, so it begins at 2:00 AM EST, not 3:00 AM. If you set an alarm the night before, set it for 2 AM on the new time. Our daylight saving guide covers the clock change in more detail.
What about Vancouver and the rest of B.C.?
British Columbia is a special case this year. The B.C. government says the province adopted year-round Pacific Time at UTC-7 after clocks sprang forward on 8 March 2026, so most of B.C. will not turn clocks back on 1 November. That is why the Vancouver column above stays at UTC-7 for the whole tour: the T20Is start at midnight, the ODIs at 7 PM the previous evening, and the Tests at 3 PM the previous afternoon.
Some areas of B.C. use Mountain time instead, so check your local rules. If a phone, TV guide or app shows an hour earlier for Vancouver after 1 November, it may be using old time-zone data; updating the device usually fixes it.
Tips for following the series from India, Canada or the US
- India: T20Is land at lunchtime and ODIs at breakfast. The Tests start at 3:30 AM IST, so most fans will catch the second half of each day's play in the morning.
- Toronto and the East Coast: the ODIs and Tests are evening and late-afternoon viewing; the T20Is are overnight.
- Working out a chase: during the ODIs and T20Is, use the net run rate calculator to see how results move the table, and read how net run rate is calculated.
