How to choose a stream after 10th
Choose by interest and strengths, not by what friends pick. Science suits students who enjoy Maths and Science; Commerce suits those who like numbers, business and economics; Arts or Humanities suits those who enjoy reading, writing, society and people.
Things to check
- Your Class 9 and 10 marks in each subject.
- Which subjects your school offers together.
- Entrance exams for careers you like (JEE, NEET-UG, CUET-UG, CLAT, CA Foundation).
VSH take: every stream can lead to a great career; Humanities and Commerce are not “second choices”.
Examples
- Loves Maths and lab work: Usually Science (PCM or PCB).
- Likes numbers and business: Usually Commerce, ideally with Maths.
- Enjoys debates and history: Usually Arts / Humanities.
