Keyboard Tester
Find dead, stuck or double-typing keys in seconds. Every key you press lights up on the keyboard below.
The VSH take: the ghosting test most testers skip
Cheap keyboards can only read a few keys at the same time. In games that means a missed jump while you run and strafe. Hold down as many keys as you can (try W, A, Shift and Space together): the rollover score shows how many your keyboard sends at once. 6 or more is great for gaming; 2–3 means it may “ghost”.
How to read the results
- Key never lights up: it may be dead. Clean under it or try another USB port.
- Key lights up without pressing: it may be stuck. Look for crumbs or liquid.
- Wrong key lights up: your keyboard layout in system settings may not match the keyboard.
- Double letters when typing: try our typing speed test and watch for repeats (“key chatter”).

Frequently asked questions
How do I test my keyboard online?
Click on the page and press each key. Each key lights up on the on-screen keyboard. Keys that never light up may be broken.
What is keyboard ghosting?
Ghosting is when a keyboard misses a key because several are pressed at once. The rollover score shows how many keys yours reads at the same time.
Why do some keys not show?
Some keys like Fn, Print Screen or media keys are handled by the computer and never reach the browser. That does not mean they are broken.
Does this record what I type?
No. Keys are only shown on screen in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
Does it work on a phone?
It is made for physical keyboards. On a phone, connect a Bluetooth or USB keyboard to test it.
Runs 100% in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved on our servers. Made by VSH.
