Mileage Calculator

Mileage (km/L) = distance driven ÷ litres of fuel used. Fill the tank fully, note the odometer, drive, refill fully and divide the km by the litres you refilled.

Updated · by ViralScopeHub Team

How to use: Enter the odometer reading at the first full tank, the reading at the next full refill, the litres filled, and optionally the fuel price.

Find your car or bike’s real mileage (km per litre) from your odometer readings and the fuel you filled.

How to check mileage the right way (tank-to-tank method)

  1. Fill the tank to full and note the odometer.
  2. Drive normally until the tank is low.
  3. Fill to full again and note the litres added and the new reading.
  4. Mileage = km driven ÷ litres added.

Conversions: L/100 km = 100 ÷ km/L; US MPG = km/L × 2.352; UK MPG = km/L × 2.825.

VSH take: correct tyre pressure and smooth driving can noticeably improve mileage.

Frequently asked questions

How is mileage calculated?

Divide the distance driven by the fuel used: km ÷ litres = km/L.

Why is my mileage lower than the company claim?

Official figures are tested in ideal conditions; traffic, AC, load and speed reduce real mileage.

What is a good mileage for a car?

It depends on the car; small petrol cars often give about 15–20 km/L in real use.

Does it work for CNG or EV?

It is for litres. For CNG use kg in place of litres; it does not apply to EVs.
