How to use the quiz
Tick the times tables you want to practise, choose how many questions, and pick a mode. Relaxed mode has no timer and is best when a table is new. Timed mode gives 60 seconds and builds speed once the facts are familiar. After each answer you see straight away whether it was right, and at the end the quiz lists the facts to practise again.
Tips for learning times tables
- Start with the easy tables: 1, 2, 5 and 10 follow simple patterns. Then 3, 4 and 11, and finally 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12.
- Use the swap trick: 7 × 3 is the same as 3 × 7, so each new fact you learn gives you two.
- Little and often: five minutes a day works better than one long session a week.
- Say it out loud: hearing “seven eights are fifty-six” helps memory.
- Look for patterns: the 9 times table digits always add up to 9 (18, 27, 36…), and 5s always end in 0 or 5.
For parents and teachers
Quick recall of multiplication facts frees up working memory for harder maths like fractions, division and algebra. Many school curricula expect children to know their tables up to 12 × 12 by around age 9 or 10. Use relaxed mode first and praise effort, not just speed. The quiz needs no sign-up, shows no chat and stores nothing about your child.
