Brown’s record and platform
Brown, a former leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party, was first elected mayor in 2018. He campaigned on continuing what he calls the “Big Brampton Build,” pointing to major projects including the city’s second hospital and a planned tunnelled LRT extension into downtown Brampton. In a written answer to CBC News last week he said he was running to “keep the momentum” going and deliver the infrastructure a growing city needs (CBC News).
Brampton council: ward-by-ward results for all ten wards
Brampton elects its Regional and City councillors in pairs of wards, so the City reports each race for a ward pair rather than for a single ward. The table below lists all ten councillors-elect from the City’s unofficial results file, with every voting location reporting. Each pair then has its own breakdown with every candidate. The City’s file has no registered-voter count by ward and does not split the mayor race by ward, so ward turnout and mayoral votes by ward are not yet published.

Next door: Caledon’s new mayor
In Caledon, CBC News projects that Christina Early will become mayor, succeeding Annette Groves, who did not run. Early has served on Caledon council since 2018 and was one of five candidates, including fellow regional councillor Mario Russo. All Caledon voting locations stayed open until 10 p.m. after officials said two locations ran out of some ballots and turnout was higher than expected (CBC News, CP24). The Town’s official results are not yet confirmed on our side, so treat Early’s win as a media projection.
What happens next
- The City Clerk must make the official declaration; Ontario’s voters’ guide says municipal results become official when the clerk declares them, usually after checks following voting day (Bramptonist).
- The City’s calendar lists November 15 as the start of the new council term, and campaign signs must be removed before 8 p.m. on October 29.
- See other cities in our Ontario mayors results guide and follow our Brampton election page.
