Compress Image to 20KB, 50KB or 100KB
Shrink a photo or signature below the exact KB limit an online form asks for.
How to use: Choose an image, pick the size limit (20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB…) and, if the form asks, the exact width and height in pixels. Download when it is done.
🔒 Runs in your browser – files are never uploaded.
How to use the Compress Image to 20KB
Choose the photo or signature you need to upload and pick the largest file size the form allows. Exam and job portals often ask for a photo under 20–50 KB and a signature under 10–20 KB; US visa forms allow up to 240 KB. If the form also gives exact dimensions, such as 200 × 230 pixels, type them in and the image is cropped to fill that size from the centre.
The tool saves the image as a JPG again and again, searching for the highest quality that still fits under your limit. If even low quality is too big, it shrinks the pixel size step by step. This keeps the picture as sharp as the limit allows, instead of guessing one fixed quality.
Worked example: in our test, a 1.3 MB portrait of 3000 × 3747 pixels with a 20 KB limit came out at 19.7 KB, 322 × 402 pixels and 69% quality, which is plenty for an exam form. With an exact size of 200 × 230 pixels the same photo kept those dimensions at 17.2 KB and 92% quality.
Some forms also set a minimum size, such as 10 KB; if the result is far below that, choose a bigger target. Everything happens on your device, so ID photos and signatures stay private. iPhone HEIC photos need converting to JPG first.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress a photo to exactly 20 KB?
Choose the photo, pick “20 KB” and wait a second. The file will be just under 20 KB, and the screen shows its size before you download.
Will my photo lose quality?
Some, because 20 KB is very small. The tool uses the highest quality that fits, and only reduces pixel size if it must.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
Can I compress a signature to 10 KB?
Yes. Pick 10 KB and, if the form asks, enter its pixel size, for example 140 × 60.
Why is PNG not offered?
PNG files are lossless and usually much larger. Forms that set a KB limit almost always accept JPG.
