How to use: Type each subject’s marks obtained and maximum marks. Add more rows if needed. Choose “Best 5” if your board or college uses the best five subjects.

Add your subject marks to get your overall percentage, total marks and best-of-5 score.

How to calculate marks percentage

  1. Add the marks you scored in all subjects.
  2. Add the maximum marks of all subjects.
  3. Divide the first by the second and multiply by 100.

Subjects can have different maximum marks (for example 50 and 100); adding the totals first gives the correct weighted percentage. For best-5, the tool picks the five subjects with the highest percentage.

Which subjects count?

Rules differ by board and college. CBSE, for example, has its own rules on which subjects form the best five, so check the official notice for admissions.
