What Is My Screen Resolution?
Your screen details, measured live in your browser. Resize the window or rotate your phone and watch the numbers change.
The VSH take: why your “4K” laptop says 1536 × 864
Operating systems scale things up so text is readable. A laptop with a 1920 × 1080 panel set to 125% scaling reports 1536 × 864 to websites, with a pixel ratio of 1.25. Multiply them and you get the real panel size. That is why we show both numbers, plus your live browser window size, which web designers care about most.

Frequently asked questions
What is my screen resolution?
It is shown at the top of this page, measured by your browser. The real pixel number is the screen size times the device pixel ratio.
What is device pixel ratio?
How many physical pixels are used for each CSS pixel. Phones are often 2 or 3, which makes text sharp.
What is the difference between screen and viewport?
Screen is the whole display. Viewport is the visible part of the browser window, which changes when you resize it.
How is refresh rate measured?
We count how many frames your browser draws in one second. It is an estimate and may read lower if your device is in battery saver.
Is 1080p good enough?
For a 24-inch monitor or smaller, 1080p looks good. For 27 inches and up, 1440p or 4K looks sharper.
