01 — Story
The brief
Checkers here follows common American rules on the dark squares. You play red at the bottom and move first. A piece steps one square diagonally forward. A capture jumps an enemy into the empty square beyond.
Jumps are not optional. If any capture exists you must take one, and a piece that can jump again must keep going. Reaching the far row crowns a king, marked with a crown, which then moves and captures both forward and back. A piece that just became a king ends its turn there.
Tap a piece to see its legal squares, then tap the destination. Easy plays at random. Medium and Hard look several moves ahead. Two players shares one screen. Undo takes back your move and the reply. You win when the other side has no pieces or no legal move. Forty moves without a capture or a new king is a draw.
How to move
Tap a red piece, then a highlighted square. If several jumps are open, you still have to choose a capture.
