Free minesweeper · three sizes
Open safe squares. Numbers count the mines next door. The first click is safe.
01 — Story
Minesweeper hides mines under a grid. Open every square that is not a mine. A number is how many of the eight neighbors are mines. A blank square opens its neighbors for you.
Beginner is 9×9 with 10 mines, intermediate 16×16 with 40, and expert 16×30 with 99. Mines are placed after your first click, away from that square and its neighbors, so the opening move cannot lose. Right-click plants a flag. On a phone, turn on flag mode and tap. The counter is mines minus flags. The timer starts on the first click.
If a 1 already has one flag beside it, the other neighbors are safe. If a 1 has exactly one hidden neighbor, that square is a mine. Compare two touching numbers before you guess. Win by opening every safe square. A mine reveals the field.
Right-click on a computer. On a phone, switch on flag mode, then tap to place or lift a flag.
