01 — Story
The sliding puzzle is a tray of numbered tiles and one gap. A tile slides into that gap, alone or as a whole row or column if you tap farther along the same line. The goal is 1, 2, 3 across the top and onward, with the gap at the bottom right.
Shuffles are real slides from the solved board, so a solution always exists. Tiles already home are highlighted. Choose 3×3, the classic 15-puzzle at 4×4, or 5×5. The score is moves, plus a timer.
Solve the top row, then the left column, and repeat on the smaller puzzle that remains until a 2×2 corner is left. Arrow keys move the tile beside the gap after you click the board. A swipe works on a phone.
Tap any tile in the same row or column as the gap. Everything between them slides together.
