01 — Story

The brief

Typing Race puts you and three computer cars on a track under a sentence. The race starts when you type the first letter. Each correct character moves your car. The first wrong letter stops you until Backspace fixes it.

Relaxed rivals type about 20 to 35 words per minute, Club about 30 to 50, and Pro about 45 to 75. Live counters show your speed and accuracy. Correct letters go green and mistakes go red. Paste is turned off.

A word is five characters. Correct characters, divided by five, divided by minutes, is the WPM. Look at the sentence, not the keys, and keep a steady rhythm. Phones can use the on-screen keyboard. Move from Club to Pro when Club feels calm.

How a mistake works

The car stops on the wrong letter. Delete it and type the right one. Speed without accuracy loses the correction time.
