01 — Story

The brief

Critter Chomp.io looks like an online arena, but every rival is a bot in your browser. Your critter swims toward the pointer or your finger. Colored dots add size. A green ring means that critter is smaller and can be eaten. A red ring means it is bigger, so leave.

Bigger critters move more slowly, which is how a small one escapes. Hold Boost or Space to dash. A dash spends a little size and drops a trail of dots. The board lists the five largest, and a mini map marks the big bots.

New best sizes unlock more animals on the start screen, from the rabbit up to the elephant. Early on, eat at the edge of a crowd and pick up the dots big critters leave when they dash. Save Boost for a catch or an escape. When you are the largest, cut the corner and pin a rival on the wall.

How to read a ring

Green is food. Red is danger. If you are unsure, you are not clearly bigger, so do not overlap them.
